Vic: Teachers deal a good result, Bracks

BENDIGO, Vic, April 30 AAP - A 12 per cent pay rise was a good result for teachers
and the government, Victorian Premier Steve Bracks said today.

Victorian state school teachers will get a 12 per cent pay rise over the next three
and a half years as part of an agreement reached with the Australian Education Union.

"I congratulate the Australian Education Union for their consideration of what is a
good announcement," Mr Bracks said.

"It's good for teachers, it's good for the government of course in our wages policy.

"In each of the financial years it will be three per cent. Over four financial years
that's in keeping with our wages policy."
