Toshiba's Bill Melo to Discuss Managed Print Services at 2011 Lyra Imaging Symposium

Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) has announced thatBill Melo, vice president, Marketing, Services and Solutions forTABS, will be a featured speaker during the upcoming Lyra ImagingSymposium, taking place Jan. 24-26, at the Rancho Las Palmas Resortand Spa, Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Toshiba is a company focusing on the field of managed printservices (MPS), and for almost a decade has been encouraging dealersto view themselves not as copier sales men and women, but as MPSproviders offering an ongoing service. During his presentation, theCompany reported that Melo will discuss the industry's "new normal"and explain, using industry research, how viewing one's business inthis manner can quadruple market opportunities. TABS said that hewould also discuss how security and environmental sustainabilityinitiatives play a key role in any valuable MPS solution.

With nearly 20 years in the industry, Bill Melo currently servesas vice president, Marketing, Services and Solutions for TABS. Priorto serving in his current role, the Company noted that Melo wasdirector, Managed Services for TABS, where he managed thedevelopment and delivery of Toshiba's Encompass and Print Managementprograms, a document management and output optimization service. Indeveloping Encompass Online, Melo has leveraged his experiencedeveloping Web-based applications for the document imaging industry.

Melo was the lead inventor on a U.S. patent for Internet-enabledbroadcast printing in 2002, and is the lead inventor on two otherapplications, one in the field of Internet-based monitoring systemsfor printers and copiers, and the other for Toshiba's EncompassOnline application.
